Shogun

Shogun originated in Japan in 1977 and introduced its line of road & mountain bikes to the market. They began to gain popularity in the 1980s but due to a lack of major marketing, they began to lose their prominence in the early 1990s.

The word shogun is derived from the military shogun which appeared in early Japanese dynasties. They were noble leaders who were ornamented in unique intricate armors. I drew inspiration from the Japanese style and these historical figures to create a new brand identity for Shogun, restoring their presence in the biking community.
